Before and After
No two words have been used more frequently in fitness advertising that "before and after". The idea that we all see ourselves as the "before" and have some notion in our mind of what our personal "after" will look like has been around as long as Jane Fonda's leg warmers. So back in 1991, we sat down with John Kinkead and some other advertising geniuses and decided to take a stab at our version of "before and after". You may remember some of these ads, most of which were well received by the Salt Lake City market:

Some (or this one in particular) was not so well received...oh well, you can't please all of the people...

Anatomy Academy 20 Year Reunion
If you remember "Buns of Steel" Tamilee Webb barking at you to follow her better, or Karl Malone not letting you take a drink during his cycle class, or Madonna making out with Dennis Rodman in the weight room, you are a true Anatomy Academy alumni. I can't believe today, June 19, 2008, marks the ninteen-year anniversary of the day I put the key in the door of the basement gym on State Street for the first time. Two hundred loyal aerobic "groupies" and eight incredibly talented instructors followed me in the door, and the rest was history.
I can't tell you how many people have said, with tears in their eyes, how much they miss this good old days of AA. Well friends, SAVE THE DATE! On June 19, 2009, we will reunite. In the coming year, please send me email addresses from anyone and everyone who was a part of those amazing 11 years. Michael Babbit, where the hell are you? Kurt Chacon, come out of the woodwork. Harold Hill, stop complaining that you can't find a good aerobics class any more and join us. By the way, if you missed out on the AA party, but caught up with us at She & Company or Sports Mall Metro, you're invited too.
This will be the beginning of my communication with you about this big and exciting event. We might even try to pull of another Steptacular! at the triad Center. Oh wait, we're all too old for that. How about some food, drinks and an exhibit of vintage AA T-shirts and big hair photos? Your posts are welcome here. We are all eager to catch up. This will be more fun than any family or class reunion ever thought of being!
